EACH LAB: CHECK MOVIE SCREEN FOR ANNOUNCEMENTS. LABS ARE OF THREE TYPES: SKY & SCOPE, SOLAR SYSTEM, & STELLAR. WHICH LABS WE DO WILL DEPEND ON THE WEATHER, WHAT IS IN THE SKY DURING LAB, AND LIGHTING CONDITIONS. ABSENCE FORM A completed form must be given to lab instructor in order to be allowed to take a makeup lab. See schedule below for time makeup labs will be given. If you have more than one lab not done Dr. Hinata may give you a F in the course.

Hubble Redshift will be used as makeup lab. Deadline for Turning In 2nd or 3rd Makeup Lab is Noon July 30. Observing Labs: Opportunities for observing will be very limited this summer due to construction in front of Parker Hall and Allison Lab. If conditions permit instructor may substitute one of these outdoor labs for indoor lab: Use of C8, Saturn, Count Stars. To allow time for sky to get darker practice quizzes for Star Quiz will be given before going outside. If bad weather or other problems prevents practice quizzes from being done before observing labs they will be scheduled before indoor labs.
LAB MOTTO #1: MAKE YOUR OWN MISTAKES. DON'T COPY YOUR NEIGHTBORS. ASTRONOMY MOTTO: YOU HAVE TO BE IN THE DARK TO SEE THE LIGHT. EXPERIMENTER MOTTO: NEVER TRUST. ALWAYS VERIFY PREFERABLY BY TWO INDEPENDENT MEANS.
