Laboratories/ Compact Toroidal Hybrid
Auburn faculty and students are actively engaged in fusion energy research for the production of electrical power. In addition to the experiments performed at Auburn, our scientists have experimental, theoretical and computational plasma physics research. The physical processes affecting the behavior of hot, magnetically confined plasmas are explored with the ultimate goal being the achievement of controlled thermonuclear fusion collaborations with several major fusion facilities.

At Auburn, fusion energy experiments are performed on the Compact Toroidal Hybrid (CTH) commissioned in 2006.
