Long vertical parallel wires attract. Current goes in same direction in both wires. Version shown in photo no longer available.

Setup Requirements:Assembled as needed. Ask ahead of time. Battery may need recharging.

 

Equations: Force proportional to I x L x B.

 

Safety Issues: High current. Use pushbutton switch to limit time current flows. Insulation may start smoking. Draws over 50 amps.   Mercury needed to allow movement of rods.
